About
-
IDB was founded by two long-time friends who built complementary careers — Dmitri in international biotech sales, Igor in institutional investment and strategic management. Dmitri holds a PhD in molecular biology (UNC Chapel Hill and Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Goettingen) and has spent 23+ years building sales teams across EMEA and APAC.
Igor spent 20+ years allocating capital and working with JPMorgan, UBS, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs, managing portfolios above USD 2 billion.
Around them, IDB has built a global network of senior commercial consultants focused on biotech and medtech sales — across Europe, the US and APAC — embedding regionally wherever a client needs traction.

The biotech commercial gap is the main gap we close.
Biotech startups often have breakthrough science but no commercial engine — that’s where most fail. Traditional advisory stops at recommendations, while we execute as an embedded fractional CRO, BDM and CFO from day one.
We combine PhD-level biotech expertise, institutional investment experience, AI-enabled outreach, and hands-on business development in one integrated team. We build pipeline, prepare the financial story for institutional capital, and stay involved through execution — not just strategy.
Unlike generalist consultants, we connect science, commercial traction, capital, and AI-driven sales acceleration under one roof, with both founders actively involved in every engagement.
With offices in Australia and Germany, IDB operates across key APAC and European biotech markets, enabling relevant local access, cross-border execution, and institutional connectivity
Why IDB
Traditional advisory
× Strategy decks with no execution
× Generalist consultants - no biotech depth
× Separate advisors for science, commercial, capital
× Manual outreach - slow and expensive
× Advice stops at the report
× You still need to build the team yourself

Our services
Commercialisation
90% of biotech startups fail to reach commercial scale. The science is usually strong — the commercial engine is missing. That gap is what we close.
